Andrea Benini is a musician, composer, producer, dj active on the International music scene for over twenty years. He is passionate about Afro-American music and a tireless sounds observer and experimenter. In 2003 established the Mop Mop project with which he gained international reward since his first album in 2005 “The 11th Pill”.
His motley career carries countless collaborations and productions, going through several legends like Fred Wesley, trombonist and James Brown arranger, with him wrote the single “Run Around” – this song is rewarded by Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) in 2003 with “Best Dancefloor Jazz track of the Year”. On the other hand, “Tedesca” is a track inserted in 2012 Woody Allen’s movie “To Rome with Love” soundtrack list.
Benini lives in Berlin since 2008.
Pasquale Mirra is a vibraphonist and percussionist amongst the most active Italian and International jazz artists. He is working with Andrea Benini since 2001. He recorded several albums and boasts a large number of collaborations with National and International musicians. He attended the Conservatorio Statale di Musica of Salerno to study percussion. Mirra has recorded with Michel Portal, Hamid Drake, Fred Frith, Ballaké Sissoko, Nicole Mitchell, Zeena Parkins, Ernst Reijseger, Rob Mazurek, Samba Touré, Butch Morris, Aziz Sahmaoui, Tristan Honsinger, Michael Blake, Lansinè Kouyatè, Hervè Samb, Mederic Collignon, Jeff Parker, Josh Abrams, Oumar Tourè, Napoleon Maddox, Billy Bang, Harrison Bankhead, RenEe Baker, Charles Hayward, Aly Keita, Fadimata Wallet Oumar, Viktor Toht, Jeb Bishop, Gianluca Petrella, Roy Paci, Domenico Caliri, Fabrizio Puglisi, Gaetano Partipilo, Stefano Senni, Cristiano Calcagnile, Zeno de Rossi, Paolo Angeli, Riccardo Pittau, Danilo Gallo, Francesco Bigoni, Antonio Borghini, Beppe Scardino, Vincenzo Vasi, Piero Bittolo Bon, Edoardo Marraffa and many other.
